Special visit by Dr Richard Marlow

The first concert of Brisbane Chamber Choir's 2011 programme is this Saturday evening, and is particularly special.  We welcome Dr Richard Marlow, former Director of Music, Trinity College Cambridge who will direct the concert.

The concert will feature choral masterworks, including:

  • Howells - Requiem
  • Howells - Take Him, Earth for Cherishing
  • Victoria - Missa O Magnum Mysterium
  • JS Bach - Komm, Jesu, Komm.
  • JL Bach - Das ist meine Freude
  • and short works by Marlow, O'Regan, Leighton-Jones and Myskinis

Dr Richard Marlow
The English choral conductor and organist, Richard Marlow, was Organ Scholar and later Research Fellow of Selwyn College, Cambridge. He studied with Thurston Dart, writing a doctoral dissertation on the 17th-century virginalist, Giles Farnaby. After teaching at Southampton University he returned to Cambridge in 1968, succeeding Raymond Leppard as Fellow and Director of Music at Trinity and taking up a lectureship in the University Music Faculty.
