Brigette Forbes
Brigette just completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Tasmania, majoring in viola and musicology, and is currently working in a law library as a secretary. She hopes to return to university, after saving money and travelling, for further study in the musicology field.

Brigette's main interest is in music, and she has played solo and in various ensembles on the violin, viola, cello, pipe organ, bassoon and drum kit. Her most memorable musical experiences include travelling to Denmark with the Derwent Valley Concert Band, and the 2005 and 2006 National Youth Choir of Australia tours.

Brigette is a new member of Brisbane Chamber Choir, and in the past has sung with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the National Youth Choir of Australia, the Lucians and the All Saints Church Choir. She especially enjoys singing in chamber groups and learning new, and challenging, repertoire.  She also sings with St Stephen's Cathedral Schola.

Kate Madden
Kate is currently studying a dual degree of law and music at the University of Queensland and finds that those areas of study tend to balance each other well. She has three more years of study ahead of her and is hoping to either focus on intellectual property law or take a different path and become a music teacher.

Kate used to be very involved with several sports including rowing, water polo and tennis but due to a back injury now chooses to walk, cycle and swim. She also recently went to New Zealand and tried skiing for the first time and hasn’t yet decided when she’ll return to the slopes. She also writes her own songs and would love to learn guitar but has not yet found the discipline to practise regularly.

Kate started singing with the St Peters Chorale with Graeme Morton in 2002 and enjoyed three years with the choir before finishing her schooling years with the Chorale’s tour of Europe in 2004. She has also enjoyed being a member of the Lucian Singers in 2002, 2005-2006 and has recently joined the Brisbane Chamber Choir..

Frances Price
Fran graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws, and worked in the law here for a while before heading overseas and living in Portland, Oregon, and Baden, Switzerland, for a two and a half years. Three babies (now teenagers!) and a few years down the track, she now juggles jobs as a medical research interviewer, retail sales assistant, and work in a law firm, with voluntary work and the rest of life. Fran also has a licentiate diploma in speech and drama (LSDA) from the AMEB.

Music aside, theatre and poetry have always been great loves, but the last couple of years have also seen a slow, tragic addiction to bridge take hold. Finding new cake recipes is always a delight, and everything competes with the lure of the great outdoors.

There just isn’t life without being in a choir. From school and parish choirs, to QUMS (where Fran met her tenor husband, Gary), the Portland Symphonic Choir, PSU Madrigal Singers, church and college choirs in Baden and Zurich, the Brisbane Chorale, Cantilena Singers, Canticum, and now Brisbane Chamber Choir (since July 2002), choral singing has come full circle for Fran, as she now has the pleasure of singing in BCC with her daughter, Madeleine.

Philippa completed a Bachelor of Music Education in 2000, and a Bachelor of Music Performance (Honours) in voice in 2003 at the University of Western Australia. She has sung as a chorister and a soloist for a number of different conductors, including Dr Margaret Pride, Ms Prue Ashurst, Dr Robert Braham, Mr Simon Lawford and Mr David Gething. She was also involved in the 1998 and 1999 NYCA seasons with Carl Crossin, and in the 2006 season with Tony Funk. Lea Withnall
Lea is currently a second year student in a 5 year double degree Bachelor of Music and Education at the University of Queensland, with hopes of becoming a primary school music teacher. She is a vocal major and is currently learning from Barbara Tate.

In the few hours that she isn't singing in choirs, Lea enjoys watching Scrubs and Black Books, parks, reading, and driving.

Her love of choral singing was originally encouraged by Julie Christiansen at the Gap State School and then by Graeme Morton at St Peters Lutheran College, where she sang in the Chorale for four years, touring with the group to Europe in 2004. She has also sung with Brisbane Birralee Voices (1997- 2004) and the Young Conservatorium Singers (1999-2000). As well as Chamber Choir, which she joined in 2005, Lea currently sings with the Lucian Singers (2003-2006) and the University Chorale and conducts the Senior Choir of Chapel Hill State School..
