Natalie Morrison

Natalie is a Journalism student at UQ who has no aspirations to be a journalist. Her love of all things that make pretty noises began at a very young age while singing in Kid’s Choir and Taabinga State School Choir in Kingaroy and playing the piano and violin very badly. Since those early days she has sung in The St Peters Chorale (touring around Europe in 2004 and 2007) and the Lucian Singers, before becoming a member of The Brisbane Chamber Choir in 2010.

In her spare time, Natalie can be found hiding other people’s DVDs to make life more interesting, reading, watching too much TV or taking photos of anything that stays still.

Kathryn Morton

With two degrees behind her, Kathryn hopes her studying days are over (at least for now).  She currently works as a speech pathologist at a private practice in the city and as a singing teacher at her home studio.  Kathryn also works as a vocal tutor for St John’s Cathedral, working with the boys’ choir several times during the week.  Another aspect of Kathryn’s professional life is that of choral conductor, conducting Cantique - the senior girls’ ensemble at St Peters Lutheran College.  Kathryn is increasingly in demand to lead vocal workshops for choirs around Brisbane.

Kathryn’s professional life leaves little time for more leisurely activities.  However, away from all things professional, she likes to watch movies, read and experiment in the kitchen.

Francis Thompson

Frances Thompson has been singing with the Brisbane Chamber Choir since 2007. Prior to that she spent 5 years in Hong Kong with her family, where she taught music at an international high school with the English School Foundation. Frances was born and educated in the UK and has sung in choirs and played in orchestras since school days.
Since moving to Australia with her family in 2006, Frances has worked as a relief teacher. She has seen the good, the bad and the ugly of Brisbane schools, but is relishing not having to experience the various delights of staff meetings, paperwork and writing hundreds of school reports at the moment.
Frances loves the space of Australia after high-rise city life, although she finds Brisbane suburbia a bit quiet. She loves having a garage to keep a bike in, cycling, the beaches and walking the dog. She is not so sure about the cane toads and the spiders.
Frances is enjoying singing with the Brisbane Chamber Choir and also enjoys both the challenges and pleasure of working alongside some great musicians, who share her love of music.
