The Brisbane Chamber Choir is one of this country's exciting choral ensembles and presents an annual subscription series in their home city of Brisbane, Australia. The Choir is also the resident Cathedral Chamber Choir of St John's Anglican Cathedral, Brisbane, and sings about six services each year, including the Easter Vigil.

The Brisbane Chamber Choir is committed to performing repertoire that challenges the musicians and surprises the public. Since the choir's establishment in November 1997 it has performed widely recognized choral music greats from all periods and styles.

In addition the choir has performed innovative music such as Busto Requiem for choir and clarinet, Lauridsen Lux Aeterna, Goodall In Memoriam Anne Frank, Britten The World of the Spirit, Carter Missa Sancti Pauli and Argento A Toccata of Galuppi all Australian premiere performances.

The choir regularly collaborates with leading instrumentalists and ensembles. These include organists Rupert Jeffcoat, Christopher Cook and Eduarda van Klinken, cellist Gwyn Roberts, and ensembles such as the Badinerie Players and The Queensland Orchestra String Quartet.

The recent concert performance of Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas with the Badinerie Players has received critical acclaim.

Recent performances have included tours to Melbourne (2006) where the choir joined with the choir of Trinity College to perform the Durufle Requiem, and performed in St Paul’s Cathedral, and Sydney (2007) with performances at St Mark’s, Granville and Pitt Street Uniting Church.

Australian composers figure prominently in the repertoire of the choir, and include performances of music by Paul-Antoni Bonetti, Stephen Leek, Graeme Morton, Alexander Negerevich, Matthew Orlovich, John Nickson, Peter Rankine, Paul Stanhope and Joseph Twist.

The choir enjoys presenting its annual In Memoriam concert which is always held close to Remembrance Day and All Saints' Day. In Memoriam presents the choir with an opportunity to perform music relevant to the occasion including works such as the Requiems of Herbert Howells and Walford Davies.
